Sanford Transit (York County Community Action Corporation)

The WAVE (Wheels to Access Vocation and Education)
The WAVE transportation service, operated by YCCAC, provides rides seven days a week between the Springvale village area of Sanford and Wells. It is a service designed to link people without transportation to jobs, job training, education sites, and child care services if needed. Major stops include Springvale (including the University of Maine Center), downtown Sanford, Center for Shopping, south Sanford industrial park, Wells industrial park, and York County Technical College. (459-WAVE)

Demand-Responsive Service (YCCAC)
Compared to fixed-route service, in which the individual rider must adapt their schedule and destination to the provided service, demand responsive services are more flexible and can come to the rider. YCCAC's demand responsive service routes are designed to serve primarily the elderly, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals, and the general public secondarily. Passengers must make arrangements with a dispatcher at least 24 hours in advance to be picked up. Most municipalities in York County receive service at least one day a week. (324-5762)
