Working with the MaineDOT: A Guide for Municipal Officials:
This guide is designed to help municipal officials understand where responsibilities lie for certain actions, and where to address questions, concerns, and applications. The guide primarily contains sources of information, processes, and lines of communication. Maine Local Road Center: The Maine Local Roads Center provides training, technical assistance, and information to those municipal people who are responsible for constructing, maintaining, and managing local roads and bridges in Maine.

Current Transportation Project Information: MaineDOT construction project information including: advertised dates, bids, contracts awarded, design specs and other project related information.

Traffic Counts: Maine DOT counts various locations across the state in different regions of the state depending on their geography. In the SMRPC region, Maine DOT conducts counts on various highways every two or three years. Every year Maine DOT publishes a report on traffic volume counts showing its most recent data for the entire state of Maine.

Sensible Transportation: A Handbook for Local and Inter-Community Transportation Planning in Maine: This handbook provides local planners with the information they need to prepare transportation plans - or transportation chapters of comprehensive plans - that are consistent with the State's Sensible Transportation Policy Act and rule and the transportation element of the State's Growth management Program.
