PUBLIC ENCOURAGED TO TAKE ONLINE TRANSPORTATION SURVEY

An online survey at www.ConnectingYorkCounty.org is now available so the public can see the basis for the Central York County Connections Study recommendations - and rate what is most important to them. The Study is evaluating opportunities to maintain and improve transportation connections between central York County and US Route 1 and the Maine Turnpike. It will also look at auto and truck travel, transit, bicycles and pedestrians, as well as the effect of land use on the transportation system.

The study is currently assessing a broad range of initial highway improvement strategies that could potentially improve motorists' ability to travel easily within the study area. These strategies are now being tested for potential impacts on the region, using such measures as safety, travel delay, the environment and economic benefit. This first round of testing will enable the study team to further develop and refine whichever strategies are most promising. At the same time, the study will be recommending complementary improvements to other modes of transportation, including public transit, bicycling, and pedestrian connections.

Please click here to do the survey!
